Xiamen Railway Station gears up for Spring Festival travel rush

 The Xiamen Railway Station is expected to see 750, 000 passengers
departing from Xiamen during the upcoming 40-day travel period
 
Xiamen Railway Station will launch telephone booking service for the first time to cope with the upcoming 40-day travel peak as people flock home for the traditional Spring Festival holiday, according to Xiamen Railway Station.

The station will add 68 temporary ticket booths and several mobile ticket booths in the city, in an effort to make tickets easier for travelers to get during the peak traffic season between Jan 30 and March 10.
 
The Xiamen Railway Station is expected to see 750, 000 passengers departing from Xiamen during the 40-day travel period, up 5.09% year-on-year.

An estimated 42, 000 passengers are expected to depart from the station on the peak day, according to the station.

China's railways are expected to carry 210 million passengers during the upcoming 40-day travel peak this year, according to the Ministry of Railway, Xinhua News Agency reported.
