An airliner in China has created an all-male attendant team, saying they have irreplaceable advantages over female attendants.

The Dalian Branch of China Southern Airlines had a trial on flight CZ6431 from Dalian to Kunming on March 6, 2010.

On this flight, all attendants are male instead of female. “Our male attendants are strictly selected from a large pool. They are no less than females in respect to patience and kind ness to passengers. More importantly they are cool-minded, and are physically strong. They can help passengers with heavy luggage, and are efficient,” said Yang Jianzhou, general manager of the Dalian Branch, who also took the flight as the captain.

On the trial flight, male attendants gave each female passenger a rose for their surprise, and also organized small games within the cabin.

“They are really really great. And of course, the journey is especially great to have some good-looking men to look at,” said passenger Miss Sun Meiling.

Dalian Branch, China Southern Airlines, has more than 400 flight attendants and only 72 are male.

General Manager Yang said they used to only have one male attendant on each flight, but since the set up of the all male attendants team, they will have more and more flights with all male attendants.

“If necessary, the all male fights are to serve key events like Shanghai World Expo, Asian Games, and big holidays.”
